ARTIST HIGHLIGHT - BASS PHYSICS

Always in support of fellow Coloradoans and CSU Rams, there is no way we could get away with not featuring these guys before, perhaps, one of their biggest shows to date. All the eyes of the electronic Colorado family will be on BassPhysics as they represent the state at Decadence tomorrow. The collaboration consists of A.P Adair (Applied Physics) and Luke Sims (DataBass) who joined forces at Cherry Creek High School, outside Denver, CO.

Their sound revolves around a slowed down funk, fused with a live guitar and keyboard. Each track has brings its own style with some sticking to the infamous Colorado chillwave and others exploding with the power of big house. They burst on to the scene in a big way with their first album Lose Your Mind, and in the last month have released their latest EP, available for free download below.

3DM MUSIC FESTIVAL

Over the past couple weeks we've told you about a couple brand new festivals that are re-defining what it means to go to an electronic music concert. There was the Safe in Sound Festival, touting the 150,000 watt sound system, and the Morning Gloryville rave cruises. Uping the ante again is the 3DM Music Festival, literally taking electronic music concerts to a new dimension. Unlike many of the festivals, it is a one day one-time concert taking place at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Rhode Island of all places. But don't let that fool you. Your senses will be taken on a ride even more than usual as "The 3DM concept employs the power of multiple screens secured above and all around a concert venue, such that the intensity of a light show literally envelops the room."

While there are no artist announcements yet, this is definitely something you don't want to miss out on if you are in the area. The show is November 1st and tickets are already available. $37 for general admissions and only $50 for VIP service that includes express entry and designated seating in an area of GA. Get them HERE.

SAFE IN SOUND FESTIVAL

It's no secret that the world of music festivals has exploded over the past few years, evolving from a few thousand to over 300,000 people in just a few short years. Tomorrowland, arguably one of the world's best festivals, just celebrated it's 10th anniversary this year with 2 massive weekends and tickets selling out in under a minute. Electric Daisy Carnival has grown from a one-time one-city festival, to a worldwide event in 5 cities over 3 countries. With festivals now competing for fans, boasting 30 full-sized carnival rides, 6 stages, 450 theatrical performers, 150+ artists, and an 8 figure budget, how can new festivals make themselves stand out?

Enter the "Safe in Sound Festival". To make yourself stand out in the world of electronic music, you have to be different, and stand out this festival does. With a focus on the bass of electronic music, Safe in Sound will be bringing along a 150,000 watt rig, touted as the most "powerful touring sound system" ever used for electronic music. For comparison, Beta Nightclub, always in the top 5 for sound systems, employs just over 100,000 watts. This behemoth of a sound system will be traveling to 20 cities in its inaugural year with the artists to back it up. Some of the releases headliners include Flux Pavilion, Adventure Club, Zeds Dead, and Excision. Check below to see if they are coming to a city near you, then head to their website to get your tickets.

RIOT FEST

Riot Fest is about as close to recreating Woodstock as you can get. Placed literally in the middle of nowhere, as you can see on the map. While there have been protests brewing from some of the locals, the festival is expected to go on as usual.

The festival is meant to bring a variety of festival-goers, as it provides a diverse lineup consisting of buzzed-about reunions, one-offs, special guest appearances, and popular punk mainstays. Check out the lineup below:

If you are interested in tickets, 3 day passes are currently running $179.
VIP is at $279 and gives you access to express entry, better seats, bevarage coupons and more. There are still one and two day passes as well. Options to camp include spaces from 150 sq. ft for 2 people for $150 all the way up to a 1000 sq ft  plot for RV Parking for $300.

OFFICIAL AFTERMOVIE

Dance music is truly becoming a worldwide phenomenon. While its roots can be traced back to artists all over the world, it took hold most heavily in Western Europe in the late 90s and early 00s. Since then it has been making its way through the North and South America. The after movie below illustrates the spread of dance music and how it has creates culture and  community. In February 2014, the largest music festival in African history took place. Rewriting stereotypes on both the music and the country, the Offical After Movie of Ultra 2014 - South Africa is really a great watch.
