CLAPTONE - CHARMER

Claptone has released his debut artist album, Charmer, featuring a variety of talent including Nathan Nicholson, Jaw, Peter, and Bjorn & John. Claptone, perhaps best-known for his late night tracks and remixes like Gregory Porters Liquid Spiritoffers hints of his well-known house beats, but offers a new sound on the majority of tracks like Heartbeat and Jaw, providing a more down tempo relaxed vibe - similar to what you might hear from Milky Chance.

Our favorite track from the release features Peter, Bjorn and John and plunges listeners into a toned down, 4-on-the-floor beat fused with a mysterious and contagious melody, complementing the enigmatic golden mask.

Listen to the full album on Soundcloud and be sure to by on Beatport or iTunes.

ARTIST HIGHLIGHT - SAPELE

Sapele first got our attention after his remix of Benny Benassi's "Shooting Helicopters", and now he is back with his own original 4 track EP "The Day" released by Dirty Soul Music. The indie dance tracks infuses a variety of elements from the dance music world and is one of our favorite EPs of the year.

His first track Testify is looking to be the single of the 4 track release, but the R&B laden track Love Is A Losing Game takes us back to the days of Boyz II Men with its sultry sound and lyrics. The final track on the EP, Looking At You,  has it's own music video released on Vevo.

Give a listen and let us know your favorite, and be sure to follow Sapele on Facebook and Twitter

ARTIST HIGHLIGHT - DIGITAL FARM ANIMALS

Indie dance is the new buzzword in electronic music these days and Digital Farm Animals is taking full advantage. Coming from London, DFA describes his sound as some sort of melodic cocktail: "a glitzy and melodic fusion of dance and left-field pop, informed equally by 80's synth-funk, the sound of Kitsune and Ed Banger and classic house and disco, all the while maintaining a contemporary and instantly hook-laden sheen that is distinctly his own."

Hook-laden is right, pick any of of DFA's tracks and you'll be immersed in the 80's disco, synth-fused era that he describes so perfectly. We've got 2 of his most recent works, and our favorites below, as well as his original EP, but be sure to check him out on Soundcloud and Twitter for more.
