AXWELL AND SEBASTIAN INGROSSO REUNITE

This post makes me feel like I am gossiping about N'Sync or The Backstreet Boys. But this is way better. It has been rumored for a while that there may be some collaboration or reunification o f SHM, and while that hasn't happened....yet, 2/3 of the group have reunited and are going on tour. Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso have released a new collaboration track and will be touring, unfortunately unless you're in Ibiza or going to EDC, you probably won't see them. But you can hear the announcement and listen to their new stuff HERE!

EDC LINEUP

EDC has just released their lineup for Vegas 2014 and it is pretty killer. Pretty much everyone you could possible expect to be there will be putting on a show. 

 

 Yeah I know, they crammed so many artists in there that you can barely read it. Click the picture to get a better look. A few of the people I'm excited for are Audien, Adrian Lux, Bro Safari, Fedde Le Grand, Avicii, and Pete Tong. After reading through the list, I can't really see anyone that's missing, but there are more to be announced. Probably why this show has been sold out for a while now...

ARTIST HIGHLIGHT - ADRIAN LUX EP RELEASE

 

Remember Adrian Lux from "Teenage Crime"? He has recently released his newest EP called "Make Out" and it is pretty incredible. The 7 tracks released have a solid mix of big room, trance, and progressive house. I've listened to the whole thing and truly can't find a track I don't like. The whole release is incredible, I can't wait for his album to drop. Looks like Lux is making his way back to the mainstage. Click HERE to check out the EP. CARL COX - TRIBAL JEDI (1996)

Our first #ThrowbackThursday goes back to 1996 with with a track from 51 year old Carl Cox. "Tribal Jedi" comes off his 1995 album At the End of the Cliche.

Aoki released the music video to his new single "Rage the Night Away" about 3 weeks ago on youtube, but it still has yet to break even 200,000 views. Like anything Aoki does, the video is pretty unique. Not to mention the song that goes along with it, great track, give it a listen below.

CHROMEO - JEALOUS (BENNY BENASSI REMIX)

I feel like Benny Benassi is one of those guys who has been in the game so long that you can't help but to respect him, especially when he's still coming out with remixes like this one at 46 years young. Benassi has continued to evolve and grow with EDM and has obviously created a name for himself in the process. He just started a short May North America tour and you can see the dates below, should definitely be a good show!

MICHAEL JACKSON - LOVE NEVER FELT SO GOOD (FEDDE LE GRAND REMIX)

Fedde Le Grand, despite his popular tracks, seems to be one of those DJs that continues to fly under the radar, but perhaps this track will help to change that. Michael Jackson's posthumous album "Xscape" was released this week and Le Grand had the opportunity to remix the single on the album. He does a great job of sticking to the origins of the song used by Jackson including the strings and disco elements of the track. Give it a listen below.

ARTIST HIGHLIGHT - THE CHAINSMOKERS

You would think that The Chainsmokers would be getting a lot more attention after the rampant success of #SELFIE, but it seems that they are still relatively unknown. These guys have been putting together some awesome remixes of tracks from everyone from Ellie Goulding, to Wanted, to the Goo Goo Dolls. The duo are proof that all you need is one break out track to get noticed as #SELFIE caught the attention of two labels. The Chainsmokers have signed a publishing contract with Sony/ATV and a record deal with Republic Records, with each deal estimated to be about one million dollars. They've got great stuff you can hear below.

STEVE AOKI ALBUM RELEASE

Steve Aoki has just released the cover to his upcoming album, "Neon Future 1". The album will be released August 12, 2014 and will feature artisits including Waka Flocka Flame, Fall Out Boy, and Empire of the Sun. The album is the first in what is supposed to be a two-part release, with the second half expected to come out in 2015.

WANKELMUT AND EMMA LOUISE - MY HEAD IS A JUNGLE (MK) EDIT

Ever heard of Wankelmut or Emma Louise? Me neither...until I hear this gem of a track. The original track itself is great, but the MK edit makes it a deep house jam that you can move to. 

I can't seem to find much more of Emma Louise or MK anywhere, but I imagine of the keep working together like this, that won't be a  problem for long.

BELIEVEING FLIES (CARLOS SERRANO MASHUP)

If you know Childish Gambino (which you should) then you know his hit track Fire Fly. Carlos Serrano reworks the beat and teams up with the up and coming AlunaGeorge to drop "Believeing Flies". It's hard to beat the original but Seranno certainly comes close.

KASKADE - ROOM FOR NOISE MASHUP

One of my favorite songs right now is a mashup of Tiesto, Swanky Tunes, and Dyro's "Make Some Noise" and Kaskade's "Room For Happiness". Kaskade uses his own track for the intro and uses Tiesto's for the drop, both combining for a sick track introduced by Kaskade at Chicago's EDC.

MARTIN SOLVIEG & LAIDBACK LUKE - BLOW

 I don't know about you but I never would have guessed that Martin Solvieg and Laidback Luke would work together. But that is why I'm writing about music instead of producing it. This track is a few months old but it looks like both parties are planning on it being a hit, and I have to agree.

SLICE N DICE - LET'S GO

Melbourne, Australia has gotten big into the EDM scene lately - so much so that there has been an entire sub-genre named after the hotspot. Slice N Dice is definitely starting to push to the forefront with their heavy bass and unique sounds but even so, googling them will bring up more sushi restaurants than music.

ARTIST HIGHLIGHT - KYGO

KYGO has certainly become more popular with his deep house remixes of classes songs like the No Diggity vs. Thrift Shop Mashup below. 2014 has really been a breakout year for KYGO and he has since been asked to mix for the likes of Avicii, Coldplay, and Diplo.

If you like the soul and jazz-funk of deep house, then you'll love KYGO's remix from an artist that you don't hear much from in the EDM scene. A soulful, slower electronic version of Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing".

THE REMIX CARTELL - SWEET DREAMS (SHAMELESS BOOTLEG)

If you're looking for some solid remixes of top 40 songs - both new and old - you've got to look for The Remix Cartell. They remix the original hits in the form of everything from Bigroom, to Dutch Style, to Melbourne Bounce.

This mix takes the Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" and mixes in a solid Melbourne Bounce beat.

SHOT ME DOWN - DAVID GUETTA (DUSTIN QUE REMIX)

This song could actually be your momma's music because it comes from 46 year old David Guetta. The man continues to defy age as he comes out with hit after hit. Today we're listening to "Shot Me Down" an early hit from 2014, but with a great trap remix done by Dustin Que.

Dustin comes from Miami and his website says he prides himself on his remixing capabilities, as this type of work requires much knowledge and expertise due to the technical work that is involved in producing all Genres and Top 40 remixes.
